According to Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the list has also been expanded to include equipment used by 15 additional Russian military companies. Among them are manufacturers of components for 9M727 cruise missiles of the Iskander operational-tactical system, including the Tambov-based Elektropribor plant, Volzhsk Electromechanical Plant and Orbita JSC, none of which are currently under sanctions by any country in the sanctions coalition.
"Russia's defence industrial base continues to operate thanks to access to foreign technologies, including through supplies via third countries and insufficient end-user control," the intelligence agency said.
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine stressed the need to tighten export controls on sensitive technologies. Proposed measures include mandatory use of GPS trackers without which the equipment would not function, on-site inspections by manufacturers of installation locations, and regulation of the second-hand equipment market.
The agency also highlighted the importance of restricting supplies to Russia of spare parts, technical fluids and software, without which even already installed equipment would not be able to operate for long.
It added that consistent sanctions pressure is a key factor in reducing Russia's ability to wage war.
