Ukrainian drones disable Russia's last ferry in Kerch Strait

The Russian ferry Slavyanin has been disabled as a result of drone strikes by Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU). The vessel had been used to support Russian forces in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Quote: "On the night of 5-6 April 2026, experts from DIU's Active Operations Department struck the Slavyanin using UAVs – the last railway ferry of the occupation army still afloat in the Kerch Strait."
Details: DIU reported that the ferry had played an important role in supplying the Russian military contingent in temporarily occupied Crimea with fuel and lubricants, weapons, military equipment and ammunition.
Background:
- On the night of 13-14 March, DIU struck two Russian military vessels.
- At that time, DIU reported that the operation had disabled the railway ferry Slavyanin and damaged the vessel Avangard.
