Poll: Opposition Tisza could win two-thirds majority in Hungary's parliament

A poll by Medián, a Hungarian polling company, suggests that the opposition Tisza party, led by Péter Magyar, could win 138-143 seats in Hungary's National Assembly in the parliamentary elections.

Details: According to the company's estimates, Tisza could secure 138-143 seats, giving it a comfortable two-thirds majority, while Fidesz, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, could win 49-55 seats. Medián also suggests that the Mi Hazánk (Our Homeland) party is likely to enter parliament, with an estimated 5-6 seats.

The pollsters stressed that these figures are estimates, as final results can only be determined within a certain range.

In the last week of February and throughout March, Medián conducted five representative telephone surveys using three different call centres, with a total sample of 5,000 respondents.

According to the results, 48% of eligible voters plan to vote for Tisza, 30% for Fidesz, 4% for Our Homeland, 2% for the Democratic Coalition, and 1% for the Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party. Another 15% were undecided, unwilling to answer, or said they would not vote.

Hungary's parliamentary elections are scheduled for 12 April.
