Fars, a news agency linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said two tankers had been allowed to pass through the strait on the morning of 8 April under the ceasefire agreement.

However, it added that "simultaneous with Israeli attacks on Lebanon, the tankers' passage through the Strait of Hormuz has stopped".

In a joint statement, the Guard Corps' naval and aerospace forces said the latest developments show that Iran is serious about keeping its "finger on the trigger" during the two-week ceasefire and ahead of talks with the United States scheduled for 10 April.
