Russians hit energy facility in Chernihiv Oblast

Several settlements in Chernihiv Oblast have been left without electricity following a Russian UAV strike on an energy facility.

Quote: "Last night, the Russians attacked an energy facility in the Chernihiv district with a Geran drone. A fire broke out at the scene of the strike. Several settlements are without power."

Details: According to Chaus, energy workers are gradually restoring electricity to consumers.

"The Easter ceasefire ended with a strike on our energy infrastructure. There were attacks throughout the week. Our defenders managed to shoot down 52 enemy drones," he said.

Background:

  • Russian forces launched 98 attack UAVs overnight starting at 00:10 on 13 April, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones. About 65 of the drones were Shahed loitering munitions.
  • During the night, the Russians also attacked the village of Komyshany in Kherson Oblast, injuring two residents.
