Zelenskyy instructs Ukraine's security chief to finalise drafts of several security agreements with partners

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has heard a report from Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, following the first stage of work by the Ukrainian delegation in the Middle East and the Gulf and instructed that drafts of several new security agreements be finalised.

Quote: "We are preparing the basis for deeper security agreements in Europe as well – we expect to achieve results this very week. I have instructed the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine to finalise drafts of several new security agreements and prepare them for signing."
Details: According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is currently in security-related communication with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Türkiye, Syria, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain and has also submitted requests for cooperation with Iraq.
He and Umierov also discussed the potential for joint work with countries in the Caucasus, as well as Eastern and South-East Asia and Africa.
Background: Deputy NSDC Secretary Davit Aloian told journalists that more than 200 Ukrainian experts are currently in five countries in the Persian Gulf region assisting partners. According to Aloian, their deployment does not have a fixed timeframe.
