Drones hit fuel-producing plant in Russia's Bashkortostan – videos

Drones attacked a plant in the city of Sterlitamak in Russia's Bashkortostan on the morning of 15 April.

Details: Eyewitnesses reported explosions and a fire, with videos posted online showing drones flying overhead and blasts.

Radiy Khabirov, Head of Bashkortostan, said that "several drones were shot down over the industrial zone of Sterlitamak". Khabirov claimed that "debris from downed aerial assets" fell onto the premises belonging to a company, causing a fire. No casualties have been reported.

After analysing photos and videos from the scene, ASTRA, a Telegram-based news outlet, concluded that the Sterlitamak petrochemical plant had been struck. The facility produces aviation fuel, synthetic rubber, phenolic antioxidants and various chemical additives and hardeners.

The Sterlitamak petrochemical plant is part of the Roskhim holding company. It had already come under attack from Ukrainian drones on the night of 5-6 January.

Ukraine's military leadership has not commented on the attack. The distance from Ukraine to Bashkortostan is about 1,500 km.
