Chernihiv heat and power plant suspends operations after Russian attack

A combined heat and power plant in Chernihiv has temporarily suspended operations following Russia's latest large-scale attack on the night of 16-17 April.

Quote: "The plant's team has been working continuously and will continue to do so to provide essential services to your homes. Unfortunately, critical infrastructure facilities have once again been deliberately targeted, affecting the stability of their operation."

Details: As of 17 April, the supply of hot water has been temporarily suspended.

The city council said emergency crews, technical specialists and company management are working at the site. The exact timeline for the repairs is still being determined, as the extent of the damage requires a detailed technical assessment.

Background: As of the morning of 17 April, drone attacks on energy facilities have left consumers without power in Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Odesa, Kharkiv and Chernihiv oblasts.
