"It's terrible": Trump on overnight Russian strike on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has described the latest Russian strike on Ukraine as "terrible", after 19 people were killed and over 100 injured.

Background:

• Between 07:00 on 15 April and 07:00 on 16 April, Russian forces conducted two waves of combined strikes on Ukraine, using ground- and air-launched missiles and attack drones.
• Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 44 missiles and 659 drones of various types over the course of the past day. Ukrainian air defence systems managed to down 667 aerial assets, including 31 missiles.
