Quote: "Fires broke out at the Novokuibyshevsk and Syzran oil refineries in Samara Oblast, the RPK Vysotsk Lukoil-II oil loading terminal in Leningrad Oblast and the Tikhoretsk oil pumping station in Krasnodar Krai.

All of the facilities are involved in supporting the armed forces of the Russian occupiers. Information on the scale of the damage is being gathered."

Details: The Unmanned Systems Forces said one of the most powerful companies in the Samara group owned by Russian energy giant Rosneft had been hit by operators from the First Separate Centre and the 414th Magyar's Birds Separate Brigade, working together with the Special Operations Forces and other elements of the defence forces.

For reference: The Novokuibyshevsk refinery is a strategic asset for Russia's military-industrial complex, supplying a significant share of the needs of Russian forces. The refinery processes 8.8 million tonnes of crude oil per year and produces more than 20 types of commercial products. The plant is situated deep in the rear, about 1,000 km from the Ukrainian border.

The latest long-range strikes by Ukrainian forces caused explosions and a fire on the refinery's premises. The full impact of the strike is being assessed.
