Details: The sides discussed the restructuring of Ukraine's energy system and preparations for the period of peak electricity consumption in summer.

Quote from Svyrydenko: "We invite American companies to partner with us in restoring gas infrastructure damaged by attacks, as well as to explore long-term cooperation in modernising Ukraine's oil and gas sector."

Details: Some of the relevant projects are already under consideration by the US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund (URIF), which will soon mark its anniversary.

Background: Ukraine has discussed the possibility of securing US$1.4 billion in loan assistance from the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to modernise energy equipment, including in the gas production sector, and to strengthen cooperation with the US Export-Import Bank.
