Details: The tournament will be held on 5-10 May. It was supposed to be the Russians' first competition since their suspension. However, the only Russian pair that was due to travel to the event was unable to obtain visas.

It should be noted that Ukraine had previously reported on its work on this issue, particularly on the diplomatic level.

In addition, Dmitry Svishchev, President of the Russian Curling Federation, is under sanctions imposed by the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Switzerland.

Background: In late 2025, the International Olympic Committee issued a recommendation to allow Russians and Belarusians to compete in youth events under their own flags. The IOC also allowed them to take part in the Youth Olympic Games.
