Power outages in five oblasts due to Russian strikes on energy infrastructure

Some consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts remain temporarily without electricity as of the morning of 7 May following Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.

Details: The energy ministry noted that no rolling power outages are forecast for today.

Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-owned electricity transmission operator, reported that electricity consumption has begun to rise.

As of today (7 May) at 09:30, its level was 1.9% higher than at the same time on the previous day, 6 May. The increase is due to hot weather across most oblasts, leading to greater use of air conditioning.

Background: Following Russian attacks on energy infrastructure in frontline oblasts, new outages were recorded in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv oblasts on the morning of 6 May.
