Kremlin responds to Zelenskyy decree allowing Victory Day parade in Moscow

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has commented on a decree by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy allowing a parade to take place in Moscow on Victory Day. [Victory Day is a Russian holiday commemorating the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in 1945, celebrated on 9 May – ed.]

Details: Peskov said that Russians did not need anyone's permission and that "woe betide anyone who tries to joke about Victory Day".

- US President Donald Trump announced a three-day ceasefire in the war between Ukraine and Russia on 8 May.
- President Zelenskyy announced a 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner swap on 9 May. He also confirmed the US president's statement regarding a ceasefire with Russia on 9–11 May.
