Ukraine's drone commander proposes universal Standard 10 formula for UAV crews

Robert "Magyar" Brovdi, Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, has proposed introducing a formula he calls Standard 10 for attack UAV crews within Ukraine's defence forces.

Details: Magyar said the Standard 10 formula is a target efficiency benchmark under which each attack UAV crew in Ukraine's defence forces would aim to kill 10 Russian soldiers per month.

Quote: "If most crews reach 10 confirmed hits per month, we will be killing twice as many as Russia is able to mobilise. In a few months, they will be overwhelmed."

More details: According to Magyar, the current average performance of a single attack UAV crew is about three Russian soldiers killed per month. However, he said there is significant room for improvement, as similar crews within the Unmanned Systems Forces record an average of 15.2 Russian troops killed per month.

For example, this figure stands at 22.3 Russian soldiers killed per crew in the Phoenix unit from Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, while it stands at 30.6 in the Magyar's Birds unit – Ukraine's 414th Brigade.

According to Magyar, these targets can be achieved without additional resources, as the model essentially requires each crew to maintain a pace of one successful strike every two to three days, which he considers realistic.

Magyar also emphasised that over the past five months Ukraine has reached a point where Russian forces are suffering more personnel losses than they are able to replenish.

Quote: "The time has come to take advantage of the enemy's inability to ramp up mobilisation. And how do we do that? By intensifying strikes on their most sensitive point – hitting that weak spot until it collapses."

Background:

• At the beginning of May, Magyar reported that a negative ratio between recruitment and personnel losses in the Russian Armed Forces had been maintained for the fifth consecutive month, starting from December 2025.
• In January, Ukraine's Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that one of Ukraine's strategic goals is to inflict up to 50,000 Russian casualties per month in order to make the war unsustainable for Russia.
