Zelenskyy: Russians preparing strikes on President's Office and residence
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) has obtained documents indicating that Russia is preparing new missile and drone strikes against Ukraine, including attacks on what the Russians describe as "decision-making centres".

Quote: "Specialist employees from Defence Intelligence of Ukraine obtained documents indicating that the Russians are preparing new missile and drone strikes against Ukraine, including, as they describe them, against 'decision-making centres'. Among these are nearly two dozen political centres and military command posts.
Of course, we have taken this information into account. But it is worth emphasising specifically for the Russian leadership that Ukraine is – after all – not Russia. And unlike the aggressor state, where there is a clear author of this war and a long-standing circle around him that sustains his detachment from reality, the source of Ukraine's defence is the readiness of the Ukrainian people to fight for their independence and for their own sovereign state."
Details: Attached to Zelenskyy's social media post were satellite images apparently obtained by intelligence from Russian military offices. They contain coordinates and data on several sites, including the President's Office, the president's residence and underground protected facilities in central Kyiv. The images are dated 6 May.
Zelenskyy stressed that the Ukrainian people cannot be defeated.
"Russia must end its war and negotiate a dignified peace, rather than searching for new ways to intimidate Ukraine. I thank everyone who is helping," the president wrote.
Background:
- On 13 May, military intelligence warned that Russia had launched a new combined aerial attack against Ukraine that could be prolonged.
- Over two days, 13 and 14 May, Russia carried out a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine. Zelenskyy reported that Russian forces launched 1,567 drones and 56 missiles of various types. He noted that the interception rate by air defence was fairly high but stressed the need for further strengthening of air defence capabilities.
