Zelenskyy: Ukraine expects pause in negotiations to end

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has discussed cooperation with the US Congress and strengthening Ukraine's air defence capabilities during a meeting with representatives of the Hudson Institute.

Quote: "During the meeting, we discussed cooperation with the US Congress, diplomatic work to achieve a dignified peace, and the importance of active US participation in the negotiation process. We are counting on an end to the pause in the negotiations and the reinvigoration of diplomacy. This is important for saving the lives of our people and restoring security in Europe."

Details: Zelenskyy also said he had informed participants about the aftermath of recent Russian strikes on Ukraine.

He stressed that strengthening Ukraine's air defence system remains especially important against the backdrop of continued attacks.

Zelenskyy also thanked the US and American people for supporting Ukraine throughout the years of the full-scale aggression.
