Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, opposes the mobilisation of men aged 18-25, arguing that it could destroy the country's future.

Details: A journalist asked about the possibility of creating a reserve force of men under 25 who would serve not on the front line but in other roles within Ukraine.

Quote: "If we simply mobilise all young men aged 18-25 through the current mechanism, we will destroy the very future of our state, an entire generation."

For reference: Mobilisation in Ukraine currently applies to men aged 25 to 60. In August 2025, the authorities allowed men aged 18 to 22 inclusive to leave Ukraine.

Background: In the same interview, Budanov also stated that there are "no signs whatsoever" of Russia preparing a nuclear strike, adding that if there were, he would know about them.
