Details: Emergency repair work has begun wherever the security situation allows.

In addition, difficult weather conditions, including thunderstorms and heavy rain, left more than 30 settlements fully or partially without electricity in three oblasts – Kyiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr.

Repair crews from regional power distribution operators are working to repair power transmission lines damaged by the bad weather.

Power engineers stressed that, given the weather conditions, it would be advisable to shift active electricity use to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently – from 10:00 to 16:00.

They also urged consumers not to switch on several high-powered electrical appliances simultaneously during peak evening hours between 18:00 and 22:00.

Background: On 21 May, attacks on energy infrastructure facilities and severe weather temporarily left some consumers in eight oblasts without electricity.
