Russia attacks Ukraine with 163 drones, 150 intercepted by air defences

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 163 drones since the evening of 26 May. Ukrainian air defence forces have downed 150 of them, although hits by eight drones have been recorded.

Quote: "As of 08:30, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 150 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south and east.

Hits by eight UAVs have been recorded at seven locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at four locations."

Details: The Shahed (some of them jet-powered), Gerbera and Italmas loitering munitions and Parodiya decoy drones were launched from the Russian cities of Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo and Shatalovo.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

Several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.

Background: Russian forces conducted a large-scale attack on the city of Chernihiv on the night of 26-27 May, damaging premises belonging to an industrial business.
