According to eyewitnesses, the Grushovaya industrial site is burning – a tank farm within the Sheskharis transshipment complex.
Grushovaya is the largest oil storage facility in the Caucasus and forms part of the Sheskharis transshipment complex operated by Chernomortransneft JSC, a subsidiary of Transneft.
The facility is connected to the Sheskharis sea terminal via a system of pipelines and tunnels that transport oil to the berths for loading onto tankers.
