Ukraine's defence forces strike oil facility in Russia's Volgograd Oblast

Units from Ukraine's defence forces struck an oil preparation and pumping facility in Russia's Volgograd Oblast on the night of 12-13 June.

Details: The Ukrainian military said the facility provides oil preparation, transportation and pumping through main pipelines to refineries and export infrastructure in the Russian Federation.

Specifically, it collects and prepares oil from fields at the Korobkovskoye oil and gas field and neighbouring fields in Volgograd and Astrakhan oblasts and the Republic of Kalmykia.

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck Russian command posts in the areas of temporarily occupied Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, as well as Russia's Bryansk Oblast.

Background: Special Group Alpha, part of the Security Service of Ukraine, working with Special Operations Forces and Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, carried out successful strikes on the Tamannaftogas oil and gas terminal in Russia's Krasnodar Krai.
