Details: The US president said he had "very good" conversations with both Zelenskyy and Putin on Sunday 14 June.
"I had a very good conversation yesterday with President Zelensky and President Putin. And I see maybe we could do something there. I really do. I think they're both open to it," Trump said. [N.B. Ukrainska Pravda does not recognise Putin as president – ed.]
The White House chief added that he would focus on ending the war in Ukraine and see "if we can get that one done".
"So now that this is finished, we're going to be focusing on that, see if we can get that one done. Twenty-five thousand people a month are dying, mostly soldiers, and that shouldn't happen. I had two very good conversations yesterday. We'll be talking about it," Trump said.
