Details: Zelenskyy said €250 million will be allocated to the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, which supports the defence of Ukrainian airspace through the purchase of US-made weapons. A further €250 million will be directed towards the procurement of drones for Ukraine's defence forces.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "I am grateful to the Netherlands for the defence package of €500 million. Namely, €250 million for the PURL initiative that helps us protect the Ukrainian sky and save lives, as well as another €250 million dedicated to drones that make a difference on the battlefield

After the brutal Russian strikes against Ukraine, our cities, and our people, this support is especially timely and will help us."

Background: On 17 June, Reuters reported that the Dutch government has committed to purchasing drones and air defence systems for Ukraine totalling €500 million. Half of the funding will be allocated through the PURL programme.
