Details: The ministry said the vehicle has been modernised based on combat experience and the military's needs.

Engineers have reinforced the independent suspension, replaced certain chassis components and installed tyres with improved performance, which, the ministry says, has increased the vehicle's cross-country capability and survivability in demanding combat conditions.

The ministry noted that the armoured body has received all-round anti-fragmentation lining, providing additional protection for the crew, troops and internal equipment against shrapnel.

The upgraded vehicle's full weight reportedly exceeds 18 tonnes. Its payload capacity has been increased to 2.5 tonnes, ground clearance to 380 mm and operational range to 1,200 km. The armoured vehicle's top speed is 110 km/h.

According to the Defence Ministry, mine protection meets Level 3a and 3b of the STANAG 4569 standard, ensuring crew protection in the event of a blast equivalent to 8 kg of TNT.

The upgraded UAT.GYURZA-02 can be configured in two variants – with a rotating turret for armament or without one.

The ministry also reported that the vehicle is equipped with ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems, an autonomous fuel heater, fire suppression systems for the engine and troop compartments, a night-vision suite and a four-camera surround-view television system.

In addition, the vehicles may be fitted with software that uses artificial intelligence to monitor the external environment.

Background: Ukrainian troops have previously posted footage of the combat use of the Gyurza armoured vehicle, which has been in service on the front lines for over a year.
