Ukrainian Foreign Ministry says there are good reasons for PM Svyrydenko to lead delegation to Gdańsk conference
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has described the decision to have Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko lead the Ukrainian delegation at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk as "justified".

Details: Tykhyi also stressed that Kyiv expects the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk to be a success.
"The decision that was made for the prime minister to lead Ukraine's delegation to this conference this year is entirely justified. It is intended to ensure that the conference stays within a pragmatic, economic and appropriate framework, with no excessive politicisation and no rows," he said.
Tykhyi described the decision as "very sound and balanced".
He also emphasised the significance of the conference, noting that delegations from 58 governments will be attending.
"And on the Polish side there will also be a government delegation, led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted. "It seems entirely logical to me that Ukraine should likewise be represented by a government delegation at a very high level. So we expect the conference to be a great success, despite the unfriendly actions on the part of the Polish president."
Background:
- It was announced earlier that Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko will lead the Ukrainian delegation in Gdańsk and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not be travelling to Poland.
- Earlier, the Chancellery of the President of Poland said it had information suggesting that Zelenskyy had decided not to attend the conference following the controversy surrounding President Karol Nawrocki's decision to strip him of the Order of the White Eagle, Poland's highest state honour.
