Quote: "I am grateful to the Аmir and the Government of Kuwait, as well as to my counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah, for their support and facilitation.

The entry into force of this Agreement marks a new stage in the Ukrainian-Kuwaiti partnership across military-technical, defence and security spheres. It creates opportunities for implementing joint projects and exchanging experience and modern technologies, as well as deepening our strategic dialogue."

Details: According to Sybiha, Ukraine, which faces Russian aggression on a daily basis, has gained unique experience in protecting the state against modern security threats and is ready to share that expertise.

He also said the Ukraine-Kuwait agreement was a timely response to Iran's ongoing aerial attacks against Kuwait and other Gulf states, the latest of which took place the previous day.

The foreign minister stressed that Ukraine strongly condemns any violation of Kuwait's sovereignty and expresses its full solidarity with the countries of the region.

"I am convinced that our cooperation will make a significant contribution to strengthening the regional security architecture and enhancing the defence capabilities of both Ukraine and our partners in the Gulf region, with the ultimate goal of establishing peace, stability and prosperity throughout the Middle East," Sybiha said.

Background: In spring 2026, under the leadership of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine concluded a series of important security agreements with countries in the Gulf region.
