US President Donald Trump has said he believes Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin is under pressure and wants to bring Russia's war against Ukraine to an end.

Details: Trump was reminded about those killed in Russia's recent strikes on Kyiv and was asked whether, in his view, Putin is under any pressure following their latest phone call.

"I think he does feel pressure. He wants to end it [the war], and Ukraine wants to end it. We're in talks and we'll see if we can get it ended. It's a terrible thing," the US president said, before once again claiming that he had "ended eight wars".

Quote: "I think we're getting much closer than people realise, and President Putin wants it to end – I will tell you that very strongly, good call, and President Zelenskyy actually wants it to end now. We're going to be going to NATO and we're going to be talking about it. I think we're going to get it ended." [N.B. Ukrainska Pravda does not recognise Putin as president – ed.]
