Polish defence minister reveals scale of country's military aid to Ukraine
Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has disclosed details of the military assistance Warsaw has provided to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.

Details: Kosiniak-Kamysz said that, following a discussion with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, he had decided to begin the process of declassifying decisions related to the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine.
Quote: "As for equipment and ammunition in 2022-2023, various types of military equipment were transferred."
Details: The minister stated that Poland's previous government provided Ukraine with military assistance worth approximately PLN 15 billion (around €3.4 billion) in 2022-2023.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also said that from 2024 to the present, Poland has supplied Ukraine with equipment valued at PLN 1.55 billion (around €350 million). It is worth noting that Tusk's government took office in December 2023, so these figures relate to military assistance provided by the current administration.
Notably, among the equipment transferred since 2024, the Polish defence minister specifically mentioned PAC-3 missiles for Patriot air defence systems.
Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed that providing assistance to Ukraine is a strategic task for Poland.
Background:
- On 4 July, Krzysztof Bosak, co-leader of Poland's far-right, anti-Ukrainian Confederation party and Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, claimed that the Polish government secretly transferred Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine in March.
- He argued that "Poland purchased them from the United States to build a layered air defence system" and claimed they were the only missiles in the Polish Armed Forces' arsenal capable of intercepting Russian Iskander missiles.
- In response, Kosiniak-Kamysz said he had ordered the declassification of information on military aid provided to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
