Zelenskyy and Trump to meet at NATO summit on 8 July

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump are scheduled to meet on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara at 14:30 local time (the same as Kyiv time) on Wednesday 8 July.

Details: The meeting will take place after the session of the North Atlantic Council at the level of NATO heads of state and government, which is due to begin at 11:15 local time and last for about three hours.

According to the official schedule, one hour has been allocated for the Trump–Zelenskyy meeting.

At 15:30, Trump is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of Syria, followed by a press conference at 16:15 to conclude his participation in the NATO summit.

Background:

As previously reported by European Pravda, Zelenskyy has already arrived in Ankara for the NATO summit taking place on 7–8 July. His programme for 7 July includes an address at the Defence Industries Forum, a series of bilateral meetings, and attendance at a dinner hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, which Trump is also expected to attend.
Media outlets had earlier reported that Trump and Zelenskyy would meet on the margins of the summit.
The final declaration of the NATO summit is expected to state that Russia poses a threat to Euro-Atlantic security and include a pledge by Alliance members to provide Ukraine with €70 billion in military assistance annually in 2026 and 2027.
A meeting of the NATO–Ukraine Council at the level of foreign ministers will also take place during the summit.
