Ukraine hits nine more Russian tankers in Sea of Azov – video

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces struck another nine tankers from Russia's so-called shadow fleet in the Sea of Azov on the night of 7-8 July.

Details: According to Brovdi, the Unmanned Systems Forces have struck a total of 21 Russian vessels over the past 72 hours: 19 shadow fleet tankers, one cargo ship and one ferry in Kerch.

He also said that during the night, the Unmanned Systems Forces struck 53 military targets in occupied Crimea and southern Russian-occupied territories.

Separately, Brovdi reported strikes on six more power substations. According to Brovdi, between 1 and 8 July, the Unmanned Systems Forces targeted 50 energy facilities as part of Operation Crimean Switch.

Background:

  • On the night of 6-7 July, the Magyar's Birds unit said it had struck eight tankers from Russia's shadow fleet in the Sea of Azov.
  • Drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine's Special Operations Centre Alpha reportedly struck the Dzhankoi airbase, infrastructure at the Port Krym in Kerch and Russian drone units and military depots in occupied Donetsk Oblast.
