Details: "Alongside the military assistance we have provided to Ukraine from our own national stockpiles, we will continue our contributions through the PURL mechanism," Erdoğan said.
Meanwhile, the Turkish president stressed that Ankara will continue maintaining channels of communication with Moscow.
"While supporting Ukraine, we are also using our communication channels to encourage Russia towards peace," he said.
The PURL mechanism involves compiling a list of Ukraine's priority requirements for weapons and military equipment, after which partner countries finance the procurement of the relevant systems, primarily those manufactured in the United States. The mechanism is coordinated by NATO.
Background: Germany will finance additional supplies of US weapons to Ukraine worth US$200 million through the PURL mechanism.
