Polish foreign minister: Russia lacks resources for attack on Poland, but they are preparing something
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski believes Russia lacks the means to attack Poland right now, but Moscow may resort to provocations against the country.

Details: The foreign minister said Poland is not panicking about Russia but takes threats from Moscow seriously.
"There is concern because Putin attacked Ukraine on the basis of optimistic and entirely false assessments. He caused enormous human suffering and serious economic damage across Europe by making this insane and criminal decision to invade Ukraine. So we cannot rule out that, even though he is unable to win, he may still make another similar decision," Sikorski said.
The minister was commenting on a report by British newspaper The Telegraph that the United States allegedly passed Warsaw a warning about a possible Russian armed provocation against Poland to "test NATO's resolve". The official said he could neither confirm nor deny this information but that "the story comes from a reputable outlet, so it is probably true".
He expressed hope that exposing Russia's intentions would force it to abandon these plans.
"That is why we are sending the Russians a signal: we know they are preparing something, just as was the case before the invasion of Ukraine. And by exposing their intentions in advance, I hope we can persuade them to abandon their aggressive stance," the official added.
Right now, Sikorski is confident that Moscow does not have sufficient resources to attack Poland.
"When the Russians threaten us, we take those threats seriously. But today Putin does not have the means to attack us – at most, he may try to stage some kind of provocation. He has still failed to conquer Donbas after almost 13 years of trying," the Polish foreign minister stressed.
Background:
- Sikorski recently said that Russia may organise a "false flag operation" to justify an attack on a NATO member state.
- Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed concerns about a possible Russian provocation aimed at "testing NATO's resolve".
- Latvian intelligence service recently warned that Russia is preparing possible provocations against the Baltic states or Poland, including drone attacks and other hybrid actions, in an effort to force NATO countries to stop supporting Ukraine.
