Battlefield sees 249 combat clashes over past day: Ukraine's General Staff reports where fighting is heaviest
The Russians continue pressing along the entire line of contact, with a total of 249 combat clashes occurring on the battlefield over the past day. The Russians have conducted their most intense assaults on the Pokrovsk and Sloviansk fronts.

Quote: "Yesterday [16 July], the enemy launched one missile strike, using eight missiles, and 85 airstrikes, dropping 265 guided bombs. In addition, it deployed 9,920 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,110 strikes on Ukrainian settlements and military positions, including 31 from multiple-launch rocket systems."
Details: On the North Slobozhanshchyna front and in the operational zone in Russia's Kursk Oblast, the Russians conducted one airstrike, dropping two guided bombs, and conducted 65 strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including one from multiple-launch rocket systems.
On the South Slobozhanshchyna front, the Russians conducted 19 attacks near the village of Starytsia and towards Izbytske, Kutkivka, Khatnie, Kozacha Lopan, Hoptivka, Radkivka, Vilcha and Bereznyky.
On the Kupiansk front, the Russians conducted three assaults near the village of Kolisnykivka and towards Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and Novoplatonivka.
On the Lyman front, the Russians conducted 10 attacks near the settlements of Novoselivka, Drobysheve and Novomykhailivka and towards Lyman, Dibrova and Ozerne.
On the Sloviansk front, the Russians conducted 23 assaults towards the settlements of Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, Pyskunivka and Mykolaivka and near Riznykivka and Zakitne.
On the Kramatorsk front, the Russians conducted one attack towards the village of Tykhonivka.
On the Kostiantynivka front, Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 Russian attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillia and Stepanivka and towards Dovha Balka.
On the Pokrovsk front, Ukraine's defence forces stopped 37 Russian assaults near the settlements of Dorozhne, Hryshyne, Novopidhorodne, Rodynske, Vasylivka and Kotlyne and towards Vilne, Novyi Donbas, Myrne, Serhiivka and Kucheriv Yar.
On the Oleksandrivka front, the Russians conducted two attacks towards the village of Vorone.
On the Huliaipole front, the Russians conducted 17 attacks towards the settlements of Kosivtseve, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, Charivne, Hirke and Vozdvyzhivka.
On the Orikhiv front, the Russians conducted 10 assaults near the settlements of Bilohiria, Shcherbaky and Mali Shcherbaky and towards Novoandriivka and Prymorske.
"Over the past day, Ukraine's Air Force and Rocket Forces and Artillery struck 18 clusters of Russian personnel as well as two other important enemy facilities," the General Staff said.
