New power outages in eight oblasts due to Russian strikes

A power outage is affecting consumers in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Odesa, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts as of the morning of 22 July following Russian attacks on civilian energy infrastructure.

Details: Energy workers are already carrying out emergency repair work where security conditions permit and are trying to restore electricity to all consumers as quickly as possible.

Ukrenergo recommends using high-powered electrical appliances between 11:00 and 15:00, when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently.

The company warned that the situation in the power system may change and urged consumers to follow updates from distribution system operators.

Background: Starting on the evening of 21 July and continuing on the night of 21-22 July, Ukrainian defence forces shot down more than 200 drones and three air-launched missiles used by Russia in the latest attack. Meanwhile, strikes by an Iskander ballistic missile and several attack UAVs were recorded.
