Estonian PM reports "good conversation" with newly appointed Ukrainian counterpart

Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal has said he has spoken by phone with Ukraine's newly appointed Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.

Details: Michal said he had a "good conversation with Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi" on Wednesday 22 July.

Quote: "Estonia will continue to back Ukraine with actions, not just words. We will provide military aid and deepen our defence industry cooperation through the drone deal agreed in Ankara. Ukraine's future is in the EU and NATO. We will keep working until that becomes reality."

Details: Michal also called for joint efforts to make the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Tallinn in 2027 a success.

Background:

On Tuesday 21 July, Koretskyi spoke with the Lithuanian prime minister and thanked him for his consistent support for Ukraine.
In his first conversation with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Koretskyi discussed further progress in the negotiation process, the upcoming heating season and efforts to counter Russian ballistic missile strikes.
