Russian forces continue to exert intense pressure on the Kupiansk and Kharkiv fronts, although their offensive efforts remain largely ineffective.

Source: Ukrinform, a Ukrainian news agency, citing Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for Ukraine's Joint Forces Task Force, on the national joint 24/7 newscast

Quote from Trebuhov: "They need to at least give the appearance of carrying out their assigned tasks, so they are now trying to end the 'summer campaign' with some sort of tangible result... But the effectiveness of these efforts remains low."

Details: Trehubov said the situation remains difficult on a number of fronts in the Joint Forces Task Force's area of responsibility.

Quote: "Around Vovchansk, Russian forces are still trying to establish a large zone of control, but their problem is that they are unable to take full control of the city itself. In Kupiansk, they are applying sustained pressure, seeking to split the large Ukrainian bridgehead in two, but they are advancing very slowly towards the city. But overall, Kupiansk is also under systematic pressure."

More details: Trehubov also said that east of the Oskil River, Ukrainian forces continue to hold a large bridgehead, which Russian forces are attempting to split.

In the Kupiansk area itself, the Russians are making slow gains as they attempt to entrench themselves in the city's northern districts.
