Zelenskyy reported to be planning US visit to attend Senator Graham’s funeral and meet with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is considering making a diplomatic visit to the United States in July.

Details: Suspilne has reported that the President's Office is planning a US trip for Zelenskyy, during which he would attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham and hold a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump as part of continuing peace talks on ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

Zelenskyy is reported to have been invited to Senator Graham's funeral.

The itinerary, including the full list of meetings, attendees and the duration of the visit, has yet to be finalised.

Sources said discussions are underway regarding who would lead the Ukrainian delegation if Zelenskyy is unable to attend the planned events.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham died suddenly on the evening of 11 July at the age of 71. His office said preliminary examination findings pointed to damage to the aorta as the cause of his sudden death.
On 10 July, Graham met Zelenskyy in Kyiv and visited the production facility of defence company SkyFall, which manufactures many well-known drone models with various roles.
