Zelenskyy to meet Trump next week

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to meet his US counterpart Donald Trump during his visit to the United States next week.

Details: Zelenskyy's visit to the US is scheduled for 28 July.

As part of the trip, he is expected to attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham and hold a meeting with Trump.

Previously: It was previously reported that Zelenskyy was considering making a diplomatic visit to the US in July.

It was also reported that if the Ukrainian president is unable to attend the planned events, discussions are underway about who would lead the Ukrainian delegation to the US.

Background:

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham died suddenly on the evening of 11 July at the age of 71. His office said preliminary examination findings pointed to damage to the aorta as the cause of his sudden death.
On 10 July, Graham met Zelenskyy in Kyiv and visited production facilities belonging to defence company SkyFall, which manufactures many well-known drone models for various purposes.
