Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, has warned that Russia may use "fake diplomacy" to avoid US sanctions.

Details: The minister believes a clear pattern has been evident in recent years: whenever major new sanctions loom, particularly from the United States, Russian ruler Vladimir Putin does everything possible to buy time.

Democrats in the US Senate have signalled to their Republican colleagues that they are ready to vote next week on the Russia sanctions package, which includes President Trump's last-minute demand to add Iran sanctions to the bill.
The bill, which has more than 60 co-sponsors, has been revised twice since the sudden death of Senator Lindsey Graham on 11 July.
It is reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet US President Donald Trump during his visit to the United States on 28 July and will also attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham.
