Ukraine's Foreign Ministry responds to Kazakh president's call on Putin to "stop the war"

Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, has responded to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's call on Russian ruler Vladimir Putin to "stop the war".

Details: Sybiha noted that Ukraine has proposed stopping the war along the current front line and moving to diplomacy, but the Kremlin continues to reject this clear path to peace.

"Putin's spokesman has already dismissed the Kazakh president's proposal as well. The bottom line: Moscow must feel more pressure before it accepts realistic peace proposals," the foreign minister said.

• Tokayev earlier proposed freezing the Russia-Ukraine war during a meeting with Putin in Omsk, returning to the Istanbul settlement formula and moving towards peace. "Perhaps it is time to freeze this conflict and return to the Istanbul 2.0 formula, as significant results were achieved there.
