Russians continue to attack civilian vessels in blocked ports of Ukraine

Russian forces struck civilian merchant vessels in ports in Mykolaiv Oblast on the night of 26-27 July.

Quote: "The vessels that came under enemy fire have remained blocked in Ukrainian ports since the full-scale invasion started in 2022 and are not being used for commercial sailing."

Details: One person was killed and several injured in the attack, the port administration said in a statement.

This is yet another deliberate Russian strike on civilian shipping and Ukrainian port infrastructure, the administration stressed.

"Attacks on vessels that have been unable to leave blocked ports for years further demonstrate the systematic nature of Russian terror against the maritime sector and pose a direct threat to the lives of civilian sailors," the statement reads.
