Ukraine hits strategic fuel depot in Russia 1,300 km from Ukrainian border

Ukraine's defence forces struck a number of Russian military targets on 27 July and on the night of 27-28 July, including the Prioritet facility in Udmurtia, which is a strategic fuel depot within the Rosrezerv system, as well as several warehouses in Crimea and Luhansk Oblast.

Details: The General Staff reports that Ukrainian forces struck a logistics warehouse and a fuel and lubricants depot near the settlement of Ichki in temporarily occupied Crimea.

A Russian military UAV storage facility near Chervonopopivka in Luhansk Oblast was also hit.

Separately, Ukraine struck the Prioritet plant, a facility operated by Russia's Federal Agency for State Reserves, in the settlement of Borok in Russia's Udmurt Republic on 27 July.

The General Staff reported that a hit and a fire had been recorded at the plant.

The Prioritet plant forms part of Russia's state material reserves system (Rosrezerv) and is a classified strategic site. It serves as a major state-owned fuel depot for the long-term storage of fuel, petroleum products and lubricants for emergencies or military needs.

According to the General Staff, the facility is located more than 1,300 kilometres from Ukraine's state border.

Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukrainian forces had struck an export terminal in Russia's Rostov Oblast on the night of 26-27 July. So-called "deep-strike" (long-range) attacks also reached oil facilities in the Yaroslavl region and Udmurtia.
