Russian attacks leave people in six Ukrainian oblasts without power

Russian attacks have left some consumers without electricity in parts of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts.

Details: The latest outages were caused by Russian drone and artillery strikes targeting civilian energy infrastructure facilities.

Emergency repair work has already begun where the security situation permits. Energy workers are working to restore power to all affected consumers as quickly as possible.

Ukrenergo has urged consumers to shift their use of high-power electrical appliances to the period between 11:00 and 15:00, when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently.

The company warned that the power supply situation may change and advised people to look out for updates from their local electricity distribution system operators.

Background: On 24 July, Russian attacks caused new power outages in five oblasts. In the Novhorod-Siverskyi district of Chernihiv Oblast, around 7,000 customers were left without electricity after an energy facility was hit.
