Ukrainian forces have carried out over 66,000 missions using ground robotic systems since start of year

Ukraine's defence forces have carried out around 66,300 missions using ground robotic systems since the beginning of 2026.

Details: Ground robotic systems have been used for logistics, evacuation and combat missions. In particular, these robots can transport loads weighing around 200-300 kg and replace people during dangerous operations.

"This directly helps save the lives of Ukrainian defenders," the Ministry of Defence commented.

It noted that demand for ground robotic systems among military personnel continues to grow. Since the beginning of the year, units of Ukraine's defence forces have ordered ground robots worth almost UAH 1.9 billion (around US$42,500,000) using e-points through the Brave1 Market marketplace. [E-points are earned by Ukrainian units for confirmed strikes on Russian soldiers and equipment – ed.]

The Ministry of Defence is also increasing the need for and procurement of ground robotic systems, having contracted more than 22,000 ground robots since the beginning of the year. This is almost twice as many as were contracted throughout the whole of last year, the ministry explained.

Background:

• From January to early June 2026, Ukrainian troops had carried out over 50,000 logistics and evacuation missions using ground robotic systems.
• At the end of May, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law exempting purchases of ground robotic systems from value-added tax (VAT).
