Ukrainian anti-Shahed Bullet drone to receive French AI guidance

General Chereshnia (General Cherry), a Ukrainian defence company, and France's Alta Ares have signed a memorandum to integrate AI-based guidance into the Bullet, an interceptor drone designed to counter Shahed loitering munitions used by Russia in its daily attacks on Ukraine.

Quote from General Chereshnia: "As part of our co-operation, we will integrate two solutions developed by our partners into the frontline interceptor: Pixel Lock, which tracks the target during the terminal phase of flight, and Cyclop C2, which provides guidance throughout the flight. Both systems maintain target tracking using computer vision and data fusion from multiple sensors, even in GPS-denied environments."

Details: The company also added that Alta Ares has recently closed a €50 million Series A funding round and is deploying its systems in several regions worldwide.

Background:

• The Bullet interceptor developed by General Chereshnia was previously integrated into naval drones used to counter Russian UAVs over coastal cities and ports.
• The Bullet was designed to intercept Russian attack UAVs, particularly the Shahed-136. It can operate at altitudes of up to 6 km while carrying a payload of up to 0.8 kg. The interceptor has a maximum range of 20 km and can reach speeds of up to 310 km/h.
• The interceptor was officially approved for use by Ukraine's defence forces in December last year.
