Olha Stefanishyna, former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, has been served with a new notice of suspicion by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), and the High Anti-Corruption Court is considering a pre-trial restriction for her.

Details: Ukrainska Pravda's sources said the notice of suspicion concerns illicit enrichment.

The High Anti-Corruption Court began a hearing on 5 August to determine a pre-trial restriction for Stefanishyna.

Background:

  • In 2023, the High Anti-Corruption Court ordered hearings in the so-called Lukash case concerning the misappropriation of UAH 2.52 million (US$56,000). Olha Stefanishyna was among the defendants in the case.
  • In 2025, Ukrainska Pravda reported on the involvement of Stefanishyna's ex-husband, Mykhailo Stefanishyn, in possible abuses at the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA). Ukrainska Pravda's sources said Stefanishyn had presented himself in informal conversations as the agency's shadow overseer, and a company linked to him had been entrusted with managing four high-value assets.
  • On 3 August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy relieved Stefanishyna of her post as Ukraine's ambassador to the US.
