Survey: Zelenskyy loses to Zaluzhnyi, Budanov and Fedorov in second round

In the event of a potential presidential election, Volodymyr Zelenskyy would lose in the second round to his Office chief Kyrylo Budanov, ambassador to the United Kingdom Valerii Zaluzhnyi, and former defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

Details: A simulated first round, based on respondents' answers, showed that Zelenskyy would finish first, with figures roughly equal to those of Zaluzhnyi (22.3% and 21.4%).

Fedorov placed third, with 13.1% of votes among those who had made up their mind and would participate in the election.

In the second round, Zaluzhnyi would receive 66.2% against Zelenskyy's 33.8%.

Budanov, were he to reach the second round, would receive 60.3% against Zelenskyy's 39.7%.

Fedorov, were he to reach the second round, would win with 63.8% against Zelenskyy's 36.2%.

Zelenskyy would win the second round against Ukraine's fifth president Petro Poroshenko (64.8% against 35.2%), and against Third Army Corps commander Andrii Biletskyy (56.9% against 43.1%).

The survey involved 2,000 respondents. It was not conducted in temporarily occupied Crimea, in Luhansk Oblast, on temporarily occupied territories or in areas where active combat operations are taking place.

Research method: personal interview using tablets (CAPI). Statistical margin of error (confidence interval): +/– 2.6%.
