Details about those killed in Russian attack on Kvitneva station in Kyiv Oblast

Eight people were killed as a result of a Russian missile strike on the Kvitneva railway station in Kyiv Oblast. All of them were waiting for the last commuter train to get home after a workday. The train was delayed due to the Russian attack on Kyiv Oblast.

Details: The Russian strike cut short the life of 50-year-old Svitlana Bashlovka, originally from Chernihiv Oblast. For the past four years, she had worked for Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways), the state-run railway operator. Her most recent position was station worker in Nizhyn.

"Her colleagues knew her as a sincere, kind, responsible and hardworking person you could always rely on.

For her husband and three children – two sons and a daughter – Svitlana was the heart of the family. Her loved ones will always remember her unmatched kindness, care, goodwill, and constant emotional support.

She dreamed of peace in Ukraine, travelling with her family, and a happy future for her children," Ukrzaliznytsia said.

Among those killed was 56-year-old Ihor Vlasenko, who lived in the Bobrovytsia hromada. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Nosivka Mayor Volodymyr Ihnatchenko wrote that 40-year-old Yuliia Konoval from the village of Yasna Zirka was also killed that evening. For many years, she had been known as a skilled hairdresser, and in the last three months she worked at a warehouse in Kvitneve.

"That tragic night was her first shift after sick leave. She was hurrying to catch the last train to return home as quickly as possible to her daughter Polina, who was waiting for her," the mayor said.

Russia also killed 44-year-old Andrii Holubchenko, a resident of Nosivka, who was also returning home from the warehouse. After a strike hit near his workplace during the massive attack, employees were allowed to leave.

"He was rushing to the last train to get home to his mother, who, as always, was waiting for her son. He even managed to call and ask her not to lock the gate.

Andrii was a kind, sincere and nice person. A caring son, a reliable brother, and a loving uncle who treated his nieces like his own daughters.

He loved fishing, appreciated the simple joys of life, and was a devoted owner of his loyal four-legged friend – a German shepherd. This is how everyone who knew him will remember him," the mayor added.

Another victim of the attack was 59-year-old Oleksandr Turchenko. He had worked for more than 15 years at the Silpo-Food logistics centre in Kvitneve.

Like many others, on the night of the attack, he was waiting for the last train home.

"Oleksandr was a loving husband, a caring father and a reliable support for his family. Kind, sincere, hardworking and responsible, he knew how to support others, listen and always found time for his loved ones.

He loved sports, regularly went to the gym, enjoyed cycling, and by his own example instilled a love for a healthy lifestyle in his family," Ihnatchenko recalled.

Earlier, it was also reported that 39-year-old Vita Horkavenko, a warehouse worker and mother of two, was among the eight victims on the station platform.
