Lavrov says Russia will not stop at current line of contact because… "our grandfathers fought against the Nazis"

The Russian regime has no intention of stopping hostilities in Ukraine at the current line of contact and promises to "intensify its methods" of waging war.

Quote: "We will not stoop to their level, but we will make our own methods much harsher in order to destroy everything that feeds Kyiv's war machine from the West. And we have been doing this. They are beginning to groan.

It is no coincidence that an increasing number of voices across our shared public discourse are calling for an immediate halt. That will not work. We can stop only when there is a long-term, reliable and sustainable settlement.

If we were suddenly to stop now at the line of contact, we would, in essence, allow the feat of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who defeated Nazism, to be devalued. That is simply impossible."

Details: Lavrov also acknowledged that people in Russia are suffering and "dying from terrorist acts", but said it is a matter of "responsibility for the thousand-year history of the Russian state".
